JJ Rey is primarily known for his work in the Ambient music genre. His compositions are introspective lullabies and ethereal meditations of shifting harmonies that create colorful tapestries of mood.  His goal with each song is to carry the listener into a unique journey that is deep, meditative, and a restorative exploration of the colors of the night sky. His past albums are like an introspective lullaby of the ether and an ethereal meditation of shifting harmonies supporting cyclical melodies in such a way that creates a colorful tapestry of moods that heal, ground, and restore.

 

 Although JJ Rey was primarily trained as a saxophonist, he is also a self taught keyboardist listening to electronic music artists like Steve Roach, Jonn Serrie, Michael Sterns, and Vangelis.

 

His three previous albums, Abandoned Peace, Living Water, and Cloud Watch with Me, on Heart Dance Records in 2021, and Falling into Sleep, on Sound Meditation Records in 2022, have been widely successful. He returns now with Comet’s Dust, a new studio album inspired by a comet’s journey through our celestial backyard.  Comet’s Dust is his first album on Wayfarer Records.
